'Discover Kettering' Nov. 6
Kettering's autumn open house is set for Saturday, Nov. 6, for tours, an academic expo and sessions to learn more about being a student on campus.
Discovery -- a great thing to do when starting a new future. Kettering University will offer its popular autumn open house, "Discover 2004," from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6. The open house offers an opportunity to:
- explore the campus,
- attend a College Expo to meet faculty and students and ask specific questions about academics,
- participate in sessions focused on admissions, co-op opportunities, financial aid and student experiences in class and on the job,
- tour campus and
- learn how to transfer academic credits to Kettering.
Events begin in Kettering's Campus Center for registration and information on activities available at Discover 2004, said Program Coordinator Shari Luck. " From 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., prospective students and their families can explore Kettering's state-of-the-art laboratories, tour campus facilities and speak with current students and professors. A large number of students, faculty and staff will be available to talk to during the annual event," she said. "It is exciting to see the entire Kettering community come together to showcase the great opportunities we have to offer."
Tours include academic buildings, Thompson Residence Hall, and the Connie and Jim John Recreation Center. Luck said there is also a student panel, where prospective students and their families can ask about the university, the co-op experience and campus life. Information sessions about admissions, financial aid, and cooperative education will also be available.
Discover Kettering is free and open to the public. Reservations can be made by registering online at http://admissions.kettering.edu/visit/index.cfmor by phone at 1-800-955-4464 ext. 7865.
"And remember," Luck added, "the dress code is casual, so wear comfortable shoes!"
