College shopping high school students will have an opportunity to discover Kettering University's labs and classrooms, and meet faculty, staff and students during "Discover Kettering" on Saturday, Nov. 5. The autumn open house is set from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. "This is a chance to 'discover' all there is to know about Kettering University," said Shari Luck, assistant director of admissions and the coordinator for the all-campus event. "We are encouraging prospective students to bring a completed admissions application and our on-site team will provide an immediate admissions decision. We'll even waive the application fee. Students will be able to walk away knowing if they'll be a select member of Kettering's student body!"

Faculty members from Kettering's academic programs are available during the College Expo, which is set up in a casual college fair setting for a good exchange of information and conversation.

Students and their families can meet with representatives from the offices of Admissions, Co-op and Financial Aid to find out what it takes to be a Kettering student and get first-hand information about the university's premier professional co-op program.

A panel filled with current Kettering students tells it like it is at school and on the job, and campus tours round out the experience with an inside look at classrooms, modern labs, residence hall and the always popular recreation center. A special session with transfer information from a community college or other colleges and universities is also available.

INSTANT DECISION: Luck said one of the highlights of the day will be a chance for students to waive the application fee and get an instant admissions decision. "We encourage students to bring their completed Kettering University applications, along with their high school transcripts and ACT or SAT test scores. Admissions staff members will be on hand to provide an admissions decision during their visit to campus."
