Kettering University students are competing with other Flint-area colleges in the 2015 Recycling Challenge from March 1-31. The challenge is sponsored by Republic Services.

Kettering is competing with Baker College, Mott Community College and University of Michigan-Flint. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to use the large recycle bin located on the east side of the Bell Tower courtyard to contribute to the challenge.

The following items can be recycled for the purposes of the competition:

  • Cardboard
  • Paper (magazines, newspaper, office paper)
  • Steel, tin and aluminum cans
  • Plastic bags

Prizes will be awarded to schools based on the most pounds recycled per student and most pounds recycled overall per campus.

The winners will be announced during the community’s Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harding Mott University Center on University of Michigan-Flint’s campus.
