Bulldog Days were filled with golf, classic cars and Corvettes
Although the weather on Saturday, May 31 was chilly and wet during Kettering University's Bulldog Days: Alumni Reunion Weekend 2003, organizers were still pleased with the turnout of hundreds of alumni who came back to campus to revisit the school that gave them their start in their careers.

Although the weather on Saturday, May 31 was chilly and wet during Kettering University's Bulldog Days: Alumni Reunion Weekend 2003, organizers were still pleased with the turnout of hundreds of alumni who came back to campus to revisit the school that gave them their start in their careers.
Kettering's Office of Alumni Affairs, under the direction of Associate Vice President Mike VanSlyke '70 and On Campus Programs and Events Director Debra Schnettler '02, planned a number of daytime and activities designed to remind alumni oftheir Kettering/GMI experience. These events included the following:
Friday, May 30
- the Major Sobey Memorial Golf Outing at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club and Blackheath Golf Club in Rochester Hills, Mich., Friday, May 30, which drew more than 160 alumni and friends in support of Kettering's scholarship endowment; and
- a Young Alumni Un-Reunion for classes 2002-1982 Friday night, with more than 60 alumni in attendance.

Saturday, May 31
- a class secretary/class agent conference Saturday morning on campus;
- a Corvette Car Show, which drew 32 mint condition Corvettes from a variety of years;
- a Firebirds Classic Car Show, with more than 20 classic cars in attendance;
- a special Scharchburg Archives display on the 100th anniversary of Buick;
- a Black Unity Congress (BUC) reunion;
- an exhibit in the Scharchburg Archives on fuel injection engineer John Dolza;
- tours of campus, with more than 110 people getting a first glimpse of the new engineering and chemistry center; and
- a Saturday luncheon program with more than 120 people, featuring special presentations to reunion chairs for their work inmaking the weekend a success.

The chairs for this year were James Martin '83, Sheila O'Brien '78, Dan Hancock '73, John Smith '73, Ken Kayser '73, Mike Bergman '68, LaVerne Draper '58, Robert Meshew '53, Ken Halter '53, and Barry Woods '78.
