Overview of M.E. Academic Advisement & Registration Process
Centralized Academic Scheduling Approval for All Mechanical Engineering Students
Academic advisement is optional except for: first term students (new transfer students and/or first term freshmen registering for their Freshmen II term), students registering for their final academic term at Kettering, and M.E. dual degree students. For these students advisement is mandatory.
Students are required to bring a current printout of their CAPP Degree Evaluation. For instructions on how to print your CAPP, please go to: http://www.kettering.edu/offices/registrar/information-undergraduate-students/capp-degree-evaluation/capp-instructions.
PIN numbers will only be required for students requiring mandatory advisement, and will be distributed during the mandatory advisement sessions. Students must have their student ID card to receive their PIN number. All other students will use their normal Banner login ID and password to access registration.
Students attending an advisement session must bring a completed “Course Selection Form” unless it is your last academic term, in which case please bring a completed “Final Academic Term and Course Selection/Course Work Audit” form to your advisement session.
Course selection forms can also be picked up in the M.E. student lounge located on the 2nd floor of the CS Mott Engineering & Science Center.
The advisement sessions are as follows:
Wednesday, Week 7 – 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Room: 2-102A/B-MC: This is a mandatory session for students registering for their final academic term at Kettering and all ME students pursuing a dual degree. This session is not for Freshmen I or new transfer students.
Friday, Week 7 – 12:25 PM – 1: 10 PM, Room 2-102A/B-MC: This is a make-up advisement session for final term and dual degree students who missed 7th Week session. It is also an optional general advisement session for upperclass ME students and those on academic probation.
Wednesday, Week 9 11:00 AM– 1:00 PM, Room 1-817-AB: This is a mandatory session for new, first term Kettering students – this includes new transfer students and Freshmen I students registering for their Freshmen II term. It is also an optional general advisement session for upperclass ME students and those on academic probation. Note: This does not apply to new, incoming students who have not yet taken courses at Kettering University.
Friday, Week 9 – 12:25 PM – 1:10 PM, Room 2-102A/B-MC: This is an optional make-up session for ALL ME students including those requiring mandatory advising as well as those registering for back-to-back academic terms. This is the last advisement session of the term, so please plan accordingly.
At your convenience, after receiving your Registration PIN number, follow the instructions provided by the Registrar’s Office to verify your PIN number is operational. Any questions regarding your registration PIN number should be directed to the Registrar’s Office.
