Academic Scheduling and Advising

Overview of Academic Scheduling Approval Process

Centralized Academic Scheduling Approval for ALL Mechanical Engineering Students

All M.E. students course schedules are approved at a centralized meeting with M.E. Faculty. Appropriate meeting times and days are announced each term. If for any reason students miss this M.E. Academic Acheduling session, a make-up session is held on or after the last day of web registration for freshmen students. There is no other opportunity to schedule for courses until drop-add of the appropriate academic term.Emails containing your personalized checklists are typically sent to your Kettering University email account Wednesday 7th week (on terms that a holiday occurs during 8th week, this date may be up to one week earlier).

Step 1  Personalized Checklists and Registration Information

Beginning Wednesday of 7th week (on terms that a holiday occurs during 8th week, this date may be up to one week earlier), emails containing your personalized checklists will be sent to your Kettering University email account. Please pick up your registration forms from the forms rack in the 2nd floor lobby of the CS Mott Engineering & Science Center. All other registration information is located on the Blackboard Community  Mechanical Engineering Students.

Step 2  Academic Scheduling Approval/PIN Distribution/Co-op Verification Session

On Wednesday of 8th week (on terms that a holiday occurs during 8th week, this date will be one week earlier), report to the M.E. Academic Scheduling Session, which is typically held in the International Room from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Please check your email, the Blackboard Community  Mechanical Engineering Students, the Kettering University announcements page, and TV-10 for specific term-by-term information. Students who are registering for their last undergraduate academic term at Kettering University must complete the "Final Academic Term Course Selection and Course Work Audit Form". All other students must complete the "Course Selection Form". You will receive your academic scheduling approval, Registration PIN number, and Co-op Verification at this session

Step 3  Sign-up on Banner Web

At your convenience, after receiving your Registration PIN number, follow the instructions provided to verify your PIN number is, in fact, operational. By doing so, you will be given a registration "time ticket". Once you have verified your PIN number and "time ticket", you will be able to register for the classes approved by their faculty advisor at the date and time instructed. Any questions regarding your Registration PIN number should be directed to the Academic Services Department, which is located in Room 3-322-AB.

If You Miss the Centralized Academic Scheduling Approval/PIN Distribution Session

If you will be unable to attend the centralized session because of an extenuating circumstance, please report to Trish Brown, M.E. Student Registration Program Coordinator, in Room 2-102B in the CS Mott Engineering & Science Center, with proof of your circumstance prior to the scheduled session, in order to schedule an alternate time/day for course selection approval prior to the make-up session. A make-up session will be offered each and every term for students without extenuating circumstances. Typically this is Thursday of 10th week (on terms where a holiday occurs during advisement and/or registration, this day may vary). Please keep in mind that there will be no other opportunity to receive academic scheduling approval and register for classes after the make-up session until on-campus drop/add of the term associated.
