About Us

The Department of Liberal Studies is responsible for the Core Curriculum, an eight-course sequence all undergraduates take. 

The Department of Liberal Studies also offers opportunities for a broad education outside the classroom, hosting the Humanities Art Center and Gallery, the Global Issues Film Festival, the Flint Area Public Affairs Debates, and the Albert Sobey Lectures on Leadership and Ethics.  In addition, the student literary magazine,The Muse, and Kettering's student newspaper, The Technician, are advised by Liberal Studies faculty.
