How the Kagle Mentoring Program WorksCommunity TutoringKMP offers free tutoring to Genesee County students from K-16 on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings from 6-8 PM during the school year (see website for dates). It is held in the Sunset Room located in Kettering University's Campus Center building. CREEK (Creating Relationships that Educate and Enrich Kids)KMP wants to create opportunities for high school aged students to talk with one another in forum style workshops. The hope is to engage in living with purpose and intention. This venue gives interested parties an opportunity to learn about a variety of issues including college planning, motivation, goal attainment, etc. Kagle SuccessStarter Program (KSS)KMP is partnering with the Flint Community Schools to provide 1:1 mentoring for students in grades 3-5 through the Mentors Committed to Excellence Program. KSS provides the opportunity for small group mentoring (1:1 or 1:4) to occur so that students relate and interact with their peers, as well as their mentor. These programs run through the regular academic school year and are school-based program. Kagle Future Leaders (KFL)KMP provides middle school aged students to participate in monthly community service projects. The projects are developed by the students and the mentors help with the facilitation of making the project a reality. A great opportunity to for young people to make a difference in the community they live in! Kagle InTellectual Endeavors (KITE)KMP wants to expose high school students with enrichment activities through this culture club focusing on outdoor/physical activities, performing arts, science/history museums, community service, etc. Each month a theme will be focused on that drives the activities which are meant to explore out of the box thinking and experiences.
