Community Tutoring

Tutoring is open to all local area students and there is NO charge for this service. Students in the 8th grade or younger must be accompanied by a parent at ALL TIMES when on campus. This is DROP-IN tutoring, you don't have to get there at 6 or stay until 8. You may leave when you are done. Students need to bring their work and school supplies.

The program runs from 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday in the Sunset Room, on the main level of Campus Center (corner of Chevrolet & Third Avenue), to the left of the elevators. Park in front of the building or behind Thompson Hall.

This is NOT a 1:1 match; tutors may have several students they are tutoring at one time. Students in lower grades (K-3) may have a difficult time with not getting the type of attention that they require. Homework in these early grades are encouraged to be done with a parent at home.

Students are expected to stay in the tutoring area and may NOT hang out in other areas of campus. Once they are finished with their work they must either remain in the Sunset Room quietly or leave campus. Please remind your children of these rules. Restrooms are located close to the Campus Center front entrance for student's convenience.

Reading, math and science are the preferred tutoring subjects. Be sure students come with material to complete. Students may attend any or all of the sessions. A registration form needs to be filled out and turned in at the first tutoring session you attend for the academic year. Forms are available at the door. Update information on the registration form as it changes. If we have to contact you in an  emergency we need a current telephone number! There is no charge to participate program.
