    Creating a Personal Web Content folder/directory


  1. If you have not already done so, Map a Drive to your UNIX home directory via "My Computer".
  2. Map a Drive Letter

  3. Choose a drive letter and type in \\odin\username (Where 'username' is the login name for UNIX)
  4. The password needed is the MS Domain password. Not needed if you are already logged onto the domain.
    You may or may not want to "Reconnect at logon"

  5. Double Click the new drive to open it.
  6. Open Mapped Drive

  7. Create a public_html folder/directory.
  8. Create Public_HTML

  9. It must be named "public_html" and be lower-case.
  10. Name Public_HTML

  11. Edit the public_html folder/directory secuirty properties.
  12. Edit Properties Public HTML

  13. Set the permissions for "Everyone" to read/execute/list
  14. Set Public HTML perms

  15. After the above it done, you can create your Personal Web Content and drop it in "public_html".
  16. Permissions on directories should be read/excecute/list, and on documents/files it should be read for "Everyone".
