  • Applicants should demonstrate consistent academic performance with a solid "B" average.
  • Consideration for admission is stronger if 30 credits have been completed, especially in math, science, and English.
  • Kettering University will recalculate your grade point average (GPA) taking all grades, all courses, and all schools into consideration.
  • Students who are transferring to Kettering University with fewer than 30 transferable credit hours must submit an official high school transcript.

When to apply to Kettering University
Applications are processed and reviewed on a rolling basis. Transfer students should apply no more than one year in advance of their intended semester of enrollment. However, the application deadline is 30 days before the intended semester begins. Admissions decisions are typically rendered within two weeks. The decision process can be delayed by an incomplete application, incomplete transcripts from all institutions previously attended, a missing major choice, or lack of a high school transcript (if you have earned less than 30 transferable credits).

To apply, submit a transfer application along with the application fee. Request official copies of all college transcripts and your high school transcript be sent to the Office of Admissions. Also, submit a list of courses in which you are currently enrolled. Letters of recommendations are optional. If pertinent, submit a cover letter explaining any extraordinary circumstances of which the admissions committee should be made aware. You may apply online or request an application by contacting the Admissions Office.

Applications submitted to Kettering University will remain active for one year. After the one-year period has elapsed, applicants will need to provide Kettering University with a new application, $25.00 fee, and relevant transcripts.

Students who were previously admitted as high school students, but did not attend Kettering University, will need to provide copies of transcripts from all other institutions previously attended. If a student has 30 or fewer transferable college credits, a final copy of their high school transcript must also be submitted.

Transfer students who would like to reactivate their application and change their intended semester of enrollment should contact the Admissions Office. Students must provide updated transcripts from every institution previously attended and a list of all courses in which the student is currently enrolled.
