Dr. Dan Ludwigsen, associate professor of Physics, works with students at Kettering University in studying the phenomena of Helmholtz resonators to develop an improved correction factor that will help control noise propagating down pipes and ducts.

Welcome Freshmen - 2008

The first half of Kettering's freshmen class (Section A) is not quite 260 students and for the first time in years - one of every five students is female! This year's freshmen class comes from 26 states, with 66 percent from Michigan and 8 percent from Ohio.

Honoring 315 graduates

Kettering University will celebrate the accomplishments of 315 graduates and present two honorary degrees at Commencement at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 14, in the Connie and Jim John Recreation Center.

Stick work

Sophomore Linda Hunt is a hockey enthusiast interested in the physics of hockey sticks. Recently, she approached Kettering University's Dr. Dan Russell, who studies the "sweet" spot of baseball bats, about research on the vibrational properties of composite and wood sticks.

Thinkbusters

In the spirit of Mythbusters, a small group of Kettering students spawned Thinkbusters and used a samurai sword, Mentos and liquid nitrogen to unravel some scientific mysteries.
