Campus Facilities

Kettering University has five main buildings on an attractively landscaped 85 acre campus.

The Academic Building is the historical "center" on campus. It houses classrooms, science and computer laboratories, the Library, Humanities Art Center, McKinnon Theatre and instructional and administrative offices.

The Campus Center is the activity "center" for the campus. It houses food services, the Wellness Center, the Campus Store, automotive historical collection, Campus Safety, student activities areas and administrative offices.

Connie and Jim John Recreation Center has a full complement of aerobic, strength and sports amenities, in addition to student and alumni lounges, making it the likely focus of many student and alumni social and recreational activities. It houses a six-lane swimming pool, four multi-purpose regulation basketball courts, four racquetball courts and an 1/8 mile suspended indoor track. Other areas include an aerobics/dance room, a free-weight room and a fitness/exercise room that overlook the pool and gymnasium.

Harris Fields provide an outdoor recreation facility. This is comprised of four softball fields, two lighted combination football/soccer fields and a jogging track. McKeachie Pavilion provides picnic facilities for university functions. The latest addition to the outdoor recreation complex is a golf chipping area. Additional space is available for the future development of sand volleyball, tennis and basketball facilities.

The C.S. Mott Engineering and Science Center is the newest addition to Kettering campus. The building houses Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering and automotive laboratories. Student project areas are provided, including the SAE garage.

Thompson Hall provides individual rooms which may be interconnected to form suites. Extensive lounge, study, laundry and storage areas are available and parking is conveniently located.

Kettering facilities are accessible to the handicapped. The majority of the campus buildings are interconnected for ease of movement during inclement weather. Convenient parking is provided adjacent to all campus buildings.
