International Students at Kettering
If you are thinking about applying for undergraduate admission from a country outside the United States, please click here and select our web page designed specifically for international students.
Kettering University is an independent degree-granting college specializing in closely coupled cooperative education at the baccalaureate level. The university offers undergraduate programs in engineering, management, and applied sciences and mathematics -- and it offers innovative and responsive graduate level programs for resident students and working professionals.
International exchange students who attend Kettering only for an academic term do not typically participate in a co-op work term. There are, however exceptions depending on the availability of work opportunities.
All international full-time 5 year enrollees or full-time transfer students must participate in alternating academic and work terms throughout their career as a Kettering student. This means that one-half of the full-time student body is in school while the other half is at work with a co-op employer.
Since Kettering operates on a four term per year schedule, international exchange students have the option of attending whichever academic term best fits his or her personal situation.
International exchange students who attend either spring or fall term have the option to schedule " Written & Oral Communications for International students." This class begins one week before the term starts thus increasing the academic term for these students to (12) weeks.
