Dual Degree Option

If you receive a Master of Science in Manufacturing Management (MSMM) or Operations Management (MSOM), you are automatically eligible for the dual degree option. Under this program, you can receive a dual degree after completing 13 core courses required for MSMM and MSOM (prerequisite courses are additional and are not counted as part of the 13).

The two degrees have seven of the ten courses in common. The remaining three courses are specific to the degree. You have the option to take an additional three (3) courses to receive a second Master of Science degree in the other program.

You are required to take prerequisite courses only for the first of the two degrees, as the prerequisite requirements are the same for both degrees.

If you are interested in pursuing both programs you must submit two (2) applications, indicating which degree will be pursued first. Should you pursue only one degree and later decide to obtain a second degree, a second application must be submitted. You have up to three (3) years from the graduation term to begin the second degree program and are allowed an additional two (2) years to complete the second degree.

MBA as a Second Degree

If you complete the Master of Science in Manufacturing Management, you qualify for the MBA as a second degree option. The MBA as a second degree option must be started within 6 years of completion of the first degree and completed within an additional 3 years.

The MBA as an additional degree requires a minimum of 20 additional credit hours. In some cases, additional credit hours may be required to meet the minimum common professional component as required for accreditation. You must complete an Application for Admission before starting your dual degree classes.

Typically, upon completion of the MSMM degree you would take the following twenty four credits to earn the MBA: ACCT-639, MGMT-661, BUSN-779/789, plus three concentration courses.
