To the Kettering Community:
Colleagues - Yesterday afternoon, I received the Strategic Visioning Project final report as drafted by the working groups and the PAC-SC. The members of the PAC-SC also gave me an extensive briefing describing the collaborative process that gave rise to this report – and it is clear that many members of the Kettering Community have devoted significant time and energy to this effort since last October. The result is a truly impressive document in both scope and substance and one that reflects well on the future of this great University.First, let me deeply thank all who participated and who contributed to this process. There is much to be proud of in an organization that can so thoughtfully collaborate and develop a vision for the future. Indeed, I have already heard from several people that as important as the final result of the effort is to them, they felt that they gained as much from the process itself and from the many interactions they had during it with their colleagues across the campus.
The process will, by design, enter a brief “quiet phase” as I fully digest the report. Both I and the members of the PAC-SC, however, believe it is important that all members of the campus community have a chance to review the results of this effort, so the PAC-SC will shortly publish the full report on the website and make it available to the campus. Shortly thereafter, they will also hold a meeting to debrief the working groups and a town-hall meeting open to the campus to discuss the report, next steps, and to gather further input from the campus.
To all who contributed to this effort, thank you. If you were unable to do so, please do not hesitate to join the conversation now.
Warmest Regards,
Dr. Robert K. McMahan
President, Kettering University
Strategic Visioning Project Final Report
Dear Kettering Community:
All five Strategic Visioning Working Groups have now reported in. Congratulations to the entire campus! This is very impressive work. Thank you to all the volunteers for their time and strong effort! The volunteers’ names are listed below in recognition of their dedication to our university’s future. Thank you also to everyone who attended the Kick-Off Visioning event and the Town Hall meetings as well as those of you who provided input through the website and at the Great Court tables.
The PAC-SC in collaboration with President McMahan will now begin to synthesize the Working Groups' reports on each theme into one university vision statement with values and goals.
Thank you all for your commitment to our university!
Warm regards,
The Planning and Assessment Steering Committee
