Industrial Engineering Department Head

Dr. William L. Scheller II, associate professor of Industrial Engineering and department head
Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Industrial Engineering, with expertise in lean manufacturing and machining.

Scheller has found Kettering students to be fast learners who aren't afraid to ask difficult questions. Teaching what he considers to be smart achievers, he truly feels he is preparing future industrial leaders and making a direct impact on American society.

Kettering's emphasis on an applications-oriented education was what attracted Scheller to the university. He appreciates that students actually practice the profession of engineering during co-op terms, and that Kettering's labs and equipment enable engineering applications during academic terms.

Hidden talents and outside interests: Scheller's academic endeavors go beyond engineering to include research and teaching Biblical history and archaeology.
