Dr. Tony Lin, professor of Industrial Engineering
Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Statistics from Iowa State University, with expertise in quality assurance, reliability and maintainability, statistical methods and design of experiments.
Lin finds Kettering students smart and motivated with more real world experience than students at other universities. Lin originally came to teach at Kettering in order to excite students to pursue knowledge in industrial engineering. He enjoys the ability to connect his teaching with practical industrial applications.
Lin was touched one day by a surprise celebration when his students brought a big candle and cake to the classroom to celebrate his birthday.
He would tell prospective students to "be an open-minded and independent thinker; work hard."
Hidden talents and outside interests: When not teaching or finding new ways to make things last, Lin enjoys time spent golfing, bowling, listen to music, and ball room dancing.
