In Theory & Practice

Colloquially called “Learning Through Consequences,”  Kettering’s Experiential Learning program uses every aspect of a student’s experiences – successes and failures – to teach, with the reflection and learning culled from social as well as scholastic and professional aspects. Everything is investigated and integrated to create an ongoing and expansive educational journey using repeating guideposts. Each semester, whether engaged within a classroom (guided by educators, counselors, and fellow students) or in an employer setting (aided by their co-op managers and employer mentors), students follow this Plan/Do/Reflect/Learn outline to gain the valuable experience needed for a successful progression toward graduation and employment in their desired field.
