Kettering's Martial Arts Club is a free Student Government sponsored event. It is open to all Kettering faculty, staff, and alumni.
Dr. Richard Stanley (M.E.) is the faculty adviser and instructor. He holds a 3rd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and also is a highly ranking Brazilian Jiu Jitzu (BJJ) practitioner and instructor.
Classes are held on M, W from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in the rec center. No previous experience is required. Just dress in comfortable clothes (i.e. sweats, t-shirts, etc.)
Kettering alumni with the startup LAVA will present on their success tied with their Kettering experience, and where they may be headed in the future. Recently, they had a successful Kickstarter campaign and reached a goal of $20,000 in just 3 days. The featured device is called Ion, a digital “mood” light that can be controlled from an Ion app.
We are partnering with our neighbors to ensure that our community is well taken care of and that we continue to show pride in our area. We look forward to our first Service Saturday of the Spring and we hope to see you there! Waiver forms can be turned into Myra Lumpkin in the Student Life office.
