Course Description:

This course is one of Lean Series Courses we offer in our Continuing Education Program.  This course focuses on use of Value Stream Mapping, a structured analysis methodology, as the first step in implementing Lean in an organization.  Students should work closely with a process in the facility.  This assures the effectiveness of value stream mapping phases from current to future states.  This course is best when closely linked with specific processes in a single facility.  While future portions may be on or off site, practical sessions will be conducted in the facility.

 

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Create a current state value stream map for a process.

2. Identify potential savings in the process

3. Create a future state map of the process

4. Demonstrate how value stream mapping in overall lean program
