Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

A Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a dcoument where critical work elements (tasks) are outlined mapping project working elements toward completion.

When creating a WBS, the project manager defines the key objectives first and then indentifies the tasks required to reach those goals.  A well-organized, detailed WBS can assist stakeholders in the effective allocation of resources, project budgeting, procurement management, scheduling, quality assuarance, quality control, risk management, product delivers and service oriented management.
