“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” - Mahatma Gandhi
What do you think can be improved at Kettering and what steps will you take to accomplish this improvement?
The three things I believe that can be improved the most on campus is community involvement, efficient use of resources, and student life on campus. I will improve Kettering’s community involvement by encouraging not only students to get involved in the community, but also the community to get involved with Kettering. I will improve our use of resources by analyzing all KSG tasks and getting rid of anything that does not provide a direct improvement to campus. I will improve student life by encouraging more students to get involved and encouraging clubs, fraternities, and sororities to work together for a greater impact.
What has been your biggest success and failure? What have you learned from them?
My biggest success was training for and finishing my first marathon in May 2012. This was a physical, mental and emotional test for me and it took a lot of determination to stick with my training and it definitely paid off. I’m proud that I had the motivation to continue on with my training even during the many times I did not feel like running. My biggest failure occurred when I forgot to site a source in one of my humanities papers and failed the course as a result. I made this mistake because I was not as focused on school as I should have been. I have since become more focused on school and have even achieved a 4.0 GPA last winter term.
What is your motivation for wanting to represent the student body via Student Senate?
My motivation to represent the student body via Student Senate is the fact that I think I can make a real difference on campus. I am also motivated by the quality of the students that attend this University. I believe if we come together we can accomplish anything and I hope to provide an environment for such collaborations.
