Academic Advising and PIN Distribution

Applied Mathematics:

Mathematics advisement will be 7th week, Tuesday, May 20, 12:30 - 1:30, in Math Conference Room,
2-100 B.

Applied Physics and Engineering Physics:

The scheduling and conflict resolution meeting will be on 7th week, Tuesday, May 20, at 12:20 p.m. in the PAL Studio, Room 2-601AB. Pizza will be provided.


The Department of Business advisement will be 7th week, Monday, May 19, from 12:20-1:20 p.m. in the Department of Business Lobby, Room 4-318AB. Lunch provided.

Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Applied Biology:

Advisement sessions will be held 7th week, Monday, May 19, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Tuesday, May 20, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; 8th week, Wednesday, May 28, 12:30-4 p.m.; Thursday, May 29, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. See Dr. Stacy Seeley, Room 3-103 MC. Please have your course selection form completed before coming to advising session.

Computer and Electrical Engineering:

ECE advising will be 7th week, Monday, May 19, through Thursday, May 22, in the ECE office (professors’ offices). Students are to sign up for an advising appointment with their advisor (schedules posted on advisors door Friday, May 16).

Computer Science and Bioinformatics:

Advising will be done 7th-11th weeks, Monday, May 19, through Friday, June 20, during normal business hours. Students can be advised by any department faculty member and are encouraged to come as early as they are able. Please contact Sarah Carlson with any questions at

Industrial Engineering:

Advising is 7th Week, Monday-Thursday, May 19-22, and 8th Week, Tuesday-Friday, May 27-30, from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., in the IME Offices, Room 1-700AB (IME Department Office). Students receive their PIN when they turn in their Course Selection Form, signed by their advisor. 

Mechanical Engineering:

Advising for ME freshmen and sophomore 1’s will begin in week 7 (beginning May 19) of this term. It will be held in the Academic Success Center (ASC) Office, 3-322 AB. Appointments can be made 9-5, Monday-Friday. Only freshmen are required to attend advising sessions. Sophomore 1's are strongly encouraged to receive advisement, but it is not required. Appointments can be made by calling 810-762-9775. 
Wednesday, Week 7 – May 21, 2014 - 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Rooms: 2-102A & 2-102B-MC: This is a mandatory advisement session for students registering for their final academic term at Kettering and all ME students pursuing a dual degree.   
Thursday, Week 7 – May 22, 2014 – 12:25 PM – 1: 10 PM – Rooms: 2-102A & 2-102B -MC: This is a make-up advisement session for final term and dual degree students who missed the May 21st session. It is also an optional general advisement session for ME SO-II – SRIII students. 
Friday, Week 9 – June 6, 2014 - 12:25 PM – 1:10 PM, Rooms: 2-102A & 2-102B -MC: This is an optional make-up advisement session for ME students including those requiring mandatory advising as well as those registering for back-to-back academic terms. This is the last advisement session of the term, so please plan accordingly.


Advising for undecided students will begin in week 7 (beginning May 19) of this term. It will be held in the Academic Success Center Office (ASC), 3-322AB. Advising is mandatory. Appointments can be made 9-5, Monday – Friday, by calling 810-762-9775. 

Dual Majors:

All students pursuing a dual major must receive mandatory advisement from both academic departments. See dates and times listed under each major.
