Inaugural Industrial Advisory Board Meeting. September 27, 2011. The Kettering University Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board and the Chemical Engineering Faculty meet for the Inaugural Industrial Advisory Board Meeting. Topics discussed at the formational meeting included the department’s program of student, pending ABET accreditation, continuing leading industrial topics including safety and controls into courses, a tour of the new Chemical Engineering laboratory, and other important matter for the curriculum. It was a very fruitful first gathering of industry experts and academicians. We’d like to thank our IAB members and their employers for their attendance and look forward to the spring meeting.

New Additions to the Chemical Engineering Faculty. July 1, 2011. Kettering University and the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Chemical Engineering welcome Dr. Susan Farhat and Dr. Mary Gilliam, who are joining the Kettering Chemical Engineering Faculty as assistant professors, and Dr. Jonathan Wenzel, who is staying on after a stint as a visiting assistant professor. Dr. Farhat is joining Kettering from Michigan State University and Dr. Gilliam is joining Kettering from Exatec.

Chemical Engineering Lab Dedication. June 1, 2011. Kettering University dedicated its new Chemical Engineering Laboratory and facilities during ribbon-cutting ceremonies at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, in Kettering’s Academic Building. The new 3,200-square-foot Chemical Engineering facilities include a state-of-the-art lab, a classroom and design center, a department studio and five faculty offices. The new laboratory, outfitted with all new instructional laboratory equipment, is the result of a $750,000 investment Kettering made in its latest engineering degree program offering.
