While the Business Office maintains a hard copy of the Public Inspection file, the following items are available online (PDF unless otherwise noted):Affirmation of Organization's Exempt Status - 501(c)(3) Letter The IRS issued a determination letter providing written assurance about the organization's tax-exempt status in May 1982. This determination letter, also known as the 501(c)(3) letter, was reissued in July 1998 after the University's name change. Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax - IRS Form 990 Organizations exempt from income tax under Internal Revenue Code section 501(a), which includes sections 501(c), 501(e), 501(f), 501(k), 501(n), and 4947(a)(1) must generally file Form 990 or Form 990-EZ based on their gross receipts for the tax year.
