The Crooks-Wallace Collection
The Crooks Collection is an unprecedented visual record of the Flint area from the late 19th Century through the 1960s. Arthur F. Crooks started a commercial photography business in Flint in 1914. Following his death in 1933, his nephew, Kenneth A. Wallace, continued the business through 1969. The Crooks, and later Wallace Studio, gained a reputation as Flint's leading commercial photographer. Over 8,000 photographs and negatives document local business, industry, institutions, and private citizens.
