Walgreens will hold a flu shot clinic on October 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Wellness Center, next to BJ's Lounge. The cost is $25 for anyone with no coverage by medical insurance. The Humanities Art Center will have a new exhibition starting October 27, titled "Winter 2014 Faculty, Staff and Partner Art Competition", which will run through January 2015.

Ricky Brown was a standout member of the Saginaw Valley State track & field team. He was one of the main driving forces behind the Cardinals claiming back-to-back NAIA Indoor National Championships in the 1982 & 1983 seasons. Among his many accomplishments during his career include 13 All-American honors, including being a member of seven different relay teams that claimed national championships. Brown’s relay teams for the 1,600 meter and 3,200 meter relay still hold Saginaw Valley school records, both for indoor and outdoor. Innovation Quest for Summer 2014 came to a close with an amazing event at the Kettering University Recreation Center swimming pool. The SuperQuest challenge was to build cardboard boats that could be paddled the length of the pool twice.
Winners of the challenge were Li Dang, Mahesh Kabra, and Ridhan Riyal with the fastest time of 56 seconds.
The prize for best looking boat was won by Andrew Harris and Everett Owen.
