For many years, Kettering has participated with other local colleges and universities in a food drive to support The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
This year's drive has already kicked off and we have two main drop locations: The Great Court and Thompson Hall. Please feel free to drop off your food donations or to purchase a holiday ornament for a $1 donation to the food bank. The 2014 Holiday Food Drive runs through December 19.
Not sure what to donate? Non-perishable foods such as canned goods, baking mixes, pastas, sauces, cereals, and spices make good food donations. Personal care products such as shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, and toilet paper are appreciated as well. Cash donations can also be made.
For more information please see Myra Lumpkin in the Student Life Office.

On Friday, November 14, Kettering University will host a Tag Day Scavenger Hunt.
Tags will pop up all over campus, highlighting some of the effects of philanthropy on the Kettering experience. If you receive scholarship support, tag, you’re it! During the day, stop by the Tag Day table in the Great Court to pick up a scholarship tag to wear and sign a thank you card for one of our generous alumni or friends.
The scavenger hunt will kick off in the Great Court and take place during common hour (beginning at 12:30 p.m.); requiring teams of 3 to 5 students to strategically search campus for information on some of our coolest campus locales. The top team wins bragging rights and a cash prize.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up your team by Thursday, November 13, and be sure to take and share pictures using #TagKU!
The Week 4 Pumpkin Challenge was a Halloween Special in which teams had to design a contraption which carried the pumpkin down a zipline before launching it as far as possible to win $100.
Carolyn and Bradley Pankow won the challenge with Caleb Lambert and Nicholas Marsh finishing in second place.
