Write a short biography about yourself (this will serve as your campaign slogan/introduction).
I love to play sports, hang out with friends, and more importantly get work done. I come from Waterford, a town right outside of the more popular known city Pontiac. I came here not because of my friends, but for the same reasons you came here, to meet great people and perform at a level of work that is up to our standards and sometimes even a little more than we can handle. I’m the type of person that likes to embrace challenges and step outside of my comfort zone.
- What activities are/were you involved in at Kettering and in high school? (list academic year, as well as any positions you may have held in any organization)
4 years of Spanish
State qualifier for DECA
Captain for Varsity football Junior + Senior year
2. What is the one trait you want people to know you for?
I am very personable; I try to get along with everybody. I was raised to never judge a book by its cover, and the best thing about Kettering is everyone has their own story. I just like to have a good time no matter who I am with or what I am doing.
“Ignorance is bliss” is my favorite saying not because of what it means, but because it is what inspires me to learn. Ignorance is bliss, only because the people who have the knowledge, make the decisions which determine bliss. In other words, I want to make the decisions as to what happens in this school and I want everybody to be informed about them.
- What do you think can be improved at Kettering and what steps will you take to accomplish this improvement?
What I want to improve at Kettering is the community. Campus life would greatly improve if we could walk outside of school grounds or let alone just walk outside past dark. Stores and restaurants should want to set up venues around our campus, but yet they are skeptical because of the community. I hope to work with KSG on creating ways to improve the community around Kettering. We could organize community service events every so often during the term, where we renovate a house or two over the weekend, or have street clean up events in which we just pick up trash and make the community look more inviting. For improvement to happen in the community, it starts here at Kettering showing everybody that we will make a difference in this community.
5. What has been your biggest success and failure? What have you learned from them?
My biggest success was being accepted into the Kettering Advantage. Before I even made it to school I got real life work experience, made a resume, and started networking. Sadly though, this is all due to my biggest failure. I was kicked off my varsity football team half way through my senior season because I was suspended from school. That experience made me re-evaluate my morals and what I was doing. I realized that opportunity is whatever you make of it, so after that I vowed to make the most of every opportunity and never take anything for granted. One mistake can cost you everything.
6. What is your motivation for wanting to represent the student body via Student Senate?
My motivation for wanting to represent the student body via student senate is life. I want to become a better leader. I want to learn how to deal with more responsibility. I want to improve my school. I want to be involved in the school’s development. I want my class to leave its mark at Kettering. I want every student’s time here at Kettering to be memorable. I want to obtain other positions in KSG in the future. There are so many reasons to be motivated but, my motivation is passion for creating a better life for everyone including myself.
