West Michigan Whitecaps Baseball Game, Fifth Third Park, Comstock, Michigan - June 24, 2005

It may not have been a winning night for the Whitecaps, but it was a grand slam for the Kettering/GMI West Michigan Alumni Chapter. The evening brought together alumni from several generations who all had one thing in common; they are all interested in the future of the school. There were 17 alumni, 19 guests and 4 staff members in attendance. The night started out with a barbeque on the patio behind the 3rd baseline. This event marked a landmark in Kettering's history for getting more than 1000 alumni to our events. Alanda Tar '03 happened to be that 1000th person who took away a Kettering University sweatshirt and a gift certificate for one of their local restaurants.

As usual, Armen Oumedian '49 and Dave Hogan '74 were to represent the chapter and to help the Kettering staff meet and greet our familiar faces, as well as our newest grads. The West Michigan Chapter is working on a 2005/2006 event calendar that hopes to include minor league sports leagues for the following sports: hockey, arena football and baseball, as well as a fall golf outing. Keep an eye on your mail for further details.
