Collegiate Hockey at the Joe

March 22 was the best of Collegiate Hockey at the Joe. Northern Michigan beat out Notre Dame 2-1 in the third game, and Michigan beat Miami 2-1 in the final. Alumni, students and staff gathered in the Legends suite and spent the day watching great hockey and partaking of the fabulous buffet.

Detroit Pistons vs. New Orleans Hornets

After a slow start by the Pistons, they came away with a win over the New Orleans Hornets by a score of 105 - 84.  From our most seasoned alum, Bob Werenski '61 and wife Sally to our youngest alum Hong Weng '06 and her brother Jay, all had a great time enjoying dinner at Hoops before the game.

Senior Seminar

On February 20th, SAC hosted Severin Faulhaber '03 from RE/MAX Alliance, Matt Adler, from North Star Home Lending, Graham Shullman, from Mass Mutual Financial Group, and Scott MacMartin '03 from The Troy Group, Inc. Faulhaber spoke to students about buying their first home. He pointed out the steps one needs to take to make sure the experience is a positive one. Adler's topic was how to apply for a mortgage and how to get and read your credit report. Graham Shullman, advised students on financial planning, comparing benefits with job offers, and life insurance. Last, but not least, MacMartin '03 shared with students what employers are looking for in the job market.

Plymouth Whalers vs. Kitchener Rangers

A group of alumni, family and friends gathered at the Compuware Sports Center on February 16th to watch the Plymouth Whalers lose to the Kitchener Rangers 2 -1.  Most of the action was in the third period as the Whalers tried to tie up the game.

Entrepreneurial Development for Kettering Students

Dwight Carlson '67 founder and CEO of Coherix spoke to Kettering students on Friday February 15th.  Carlson's topic was "Entrepreneurial Development for Kettering Students." Carlson explained the pitfalls and advantages of  owning your own business and how to get started.

The Detroit Red Wings vs. The Colorado Avalanche

The Detroit Red Wings and Kettering University had a great game on February 1st.  Kettering sported their red and white colors and cheered the Wings to victory.  The Wings trounced the Colorado Avalanche 2 to 0 in the last two minutes of the game, and Kettering won with 50 alumni, guests and SAC students having dinner in the Manhattan Room at the Joe.

Frankenmuth Snowfest 2008  

Over 50 alumni, guests and students showed up for a great breakfast buffet in Frankenmuth and to check out the snow and ice sculptures. Student Alumni Council was able to network with many young alumni and also with our seasoned alumni.
