End of Term Dinner - December 15, 2009
On December 15, SAC ended its term by having dinner at BrickStreet Grill in Grand Blanc. The End of Term dinner is a thank you to all the students who served on the council for a job well done. Distinguished Leadership Awards were also given.
Angela Hospodar and Vanessa Grant received a Distinguished Leadership Award for the start and implementation of SAC's new Internship Program. The program netted 14 students who were interested in SAC. Three of the interns for the term were taken on as permanent members. |
Matt Schneider also received a Distinguished Leadership Award for his service to the council as President for the past two terms. Matt did a great job keeping the council on track and members accountable. |

Final Meeting - December 11, 2009
On December 11, SAC held its final meeting of the term.

Matt Schneider and Angela Hospodar are sad to be leaving the council as they join the ranks of alumni on December 12 - Graduation Day.

But, Matt and Ang, are glad to be graduating and moving toward that 40 year work term. They will be missed!
Pre-Holiday Bowling - November 23, 2009
November 23 brought out a little early fun before the Thanksgiving holiday. SAC goes bowling.

Greg Feld ’94 - November 17, 2009
On November 17 SAC hosted Greg Feld ’94 who is the co-founder and managing partner of Checkpoint Consulting. Greg shared his experience in turning his thesis project into a very successful company.

Discover Kettering - November 14, 2009
SAC joined in the festivities of Discover Kettering on November 14 by selling its famous “undefeated since 1919” football shirts.

Leadership Exercises - November 12, 2009
For a different style of leadership, SAC got together for a potluck and games hosted by Deb Schnettler ’00, advisor for the group. Members were challenged as they hurled clues from Catch Phrase and acted out (literally) to Gestures.

Flint Children's Museum Donation - November 11, 2009
On November 11, 2009, SAC visited the Flint Children’s Museum for a bit of fun and to donate the sum of $570 raised through t-shirt sales during Bulldog Days. The money was given to Kim Yecke, the Executive Director of the museum. If you haven’t been to the museum stop in. It’s had a face lift and there are a lot of great things to play with.

Starting, Running, and Branding your Business - October 2009
SAC and its new interns pose with Peter and Kim Schmitz both '88 grads after a successful presentation on "Starting, Running, and Branding your Business." The Schmitzs own and operate Annie's of Traverse City, Front Street Partners, LLC, and Acts of Love - Home Companions.

SE Michigan Chapter at the Detroit Institute of Arts - October 16, 2009
SAC attended the SE Michigan event at the Detroit Institute of Arts in Detroit on October 16. More than 50 alumni and their families came together to network and experience the many works of art on display.

Career Development with Jim Craft - October 14, 2009
On October 14 more than 65 students listened to Jim Craft the VP Senior Consultant for Lee Hecht Harrison, speak regarding career development. What's hot and what's not in buzz words, resume writing, and interview techniques. The event was sponsored by SAC, KSG, and the Kettering University Leadership Honor Society.

Vanessa Grant, the VP of Alumni Relations for SAC, introduced Jim to students.
Jim tells students the ins of outs of the current market and how to persevere.
