Charles Postlewate '64 Visits Old Mission, Michigan - July 11, 2004

Several Kettering staff members joined Kettering/GMI alumni in beautiful Old Mission, Michigan located near Traverse City to hear the music of classically trained guitarist and Kettering alumnus, Charles Postlewate '64. Charles and his wife, Maria-Luisa, are spending the summer in Michigan preparing for his upcoming concert tour.

Charles studied music at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where he received his bachelor and masters degree's in guitar performance. Postlewate is a founding member of the Guitar Foundation of America and is presently serving as an Associate Professor of Music at The University of Texas at Arlington. His latest CD, Homage to Vila-Lobos, is the result of a 16-year research project to incorporate the little finger right hand technique of the classical guitar.

Among the alumni that were in attendance were Fred '70 and Rebecca Schaafsma , at whose home the event was held, Neal '58 and Barbara Neese , John '67 and Elaine Novak, John '65 and Jessica Coleman and Dennis '69 and Helen Woodman. Kettering staff members included Darryl Sczepanski, Judy Howald and Sue Weiss.
