Indianapolis/Kokomo Alumni Chapter, Bear Slide Golf Course - August 22, 2005
Forty alumni and friends teed it off on Monday, August 22, 2005 at Bear Slide Golf Club in Cicero, Indiana. Beautiful weather, hearty lunches, and good laughs made this golf outing a memorable experience. The new Kettering University president, Stan Liberty, played a round of golf and talked to alumni about his visions of the future for Kettering.
The highlight of the day was Larry Montag ’74 getting a hole in one on number six. Some of the other awards given were the youngest alum, Kevin Keller ’96 and the oldest alum, Paul George ’52.
Also, a special gift was presented to Tonya Goodier ’80 & ‘96 for her continual support to making this golf outing a success
The winning foursome was Goetz Shaefer ’65, Marion Smith ’56, Ken Harmon ’56, and Bob Utter ’60 with a score of 58. Coming in a close second was Carl Blaize ’64, Bill Perkins ’59, Lyle Crouse, and Tom Fitzsimmons ’69 with a score of 60. Bringing up the rear with a whopping score of 72, the last place threesome included two Kettering University staff members Jack Stock and Phil Lavendar, accompanied by Alumni Board Member Tracy Coleman ’90.
The Indianapolis/Kokomo golf outing always proves to be a good time. So, mark your calendars and get your foursome ready because next year the scores and laughs will even be better.
