Chinese International Alumni Class of 1990, 20th Class Reunion, Kensington Park, Milford, Michigan - October 1, 2005

The year was 1985, and their destination was the United States of America. These students from China were on their way to GMI where they were about to begin their path to a life they are very proud of. There were 15 alumni and 33 guest in attendance. This group of alumni could have made the event a success on their own but they invited Mike VanSlyke, Associate Vice President of Alumni Affairs and Kacie Bukosky of Kettering University to join them in their celebration to get them up to date on how Kettering University has changed over the years. Other guests were former Kettering/GMI professor, Dr. Ching Hou and his wife, Shu Rong.

There was a special tribute to former professor, Bill Fugenschuh, who has recently passed away. Fugenschuh’s wife, Flo and their daughter were also special guests to the reunion as the alumni wanted to express to them what a wonderful man their husband/father was and how he touched all of their lives in a way that they will never forget.

A special surprise came at the end of the day when Jim Lu ’90 presented Kettering University with a $500 donation to go towards the International Program, which is very near to their heart.
