Academic AdvisingWhat is the difference between an Advisor in Academic Services and an Advisor in my degree department? The Advisors in Academic Services are professional staff members who will assist you with the development of educational plans that are consistent with your academic and personal goals. In addition, Academic Advisors are available to discuss with you any barriers you may encounter while working toward completion of your degree at Kettering University. Faculty Advisors are located within the academic degree departments. They are professors who provide advisement regarding curriculum information and course scheduling. You should see your Faculty Advisor at least once every term. Why would I meet with an Academic Services Advisor? Academic Services Advisors are trained in the areas of Kettering University policies and procedures and how they may affect you. If you are on Warning or Probation, it is mandated by the Academic Review Committee that you meet with your Academic Advisor. Academic Advisors also assist you in all facets of your life, not just academics.
