Our Chemistry & Biochemistry Co-op Education Sponsors
Our students benefit both monetarily and experientially by being employed by one of Kettering’s many co-op companies. Many of our majors are offered permanent employment by our co-op sponsors. Some decide to pursue graduate or medical school. Kettering students alternate between taking classes for 3 months and then they are off to work for 3 months giving them 2.5 years of work experience upon graduation. Our students thoroughly enjoy their co-op opportunity and we see them mature over the years putting them ahead of their peers at other institutions.

Our students are enthusiastic, driven, and hard-working. Our visitors are surprised to learn that beginning in their freshman year, students are able to use state-of-the-art instrumentation such as Atomic Absorption Spectrometers, Liquid Chromatographs, UV/Vis Spectrometers, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer (NMR), Gas Chromatographs, Infrared Spectrometers, Ion-Exchange Chromatographs, and many others. This makes Kettering students ahead of their peers at other institutions as very few schools are able to offer this kind of experience to their students. Our co-op sponsors appreciate our students’ knowledge in not just instrumentation but several types of procedures and processes as well making them invaluable to our sponsors.
If you are interested in sponsoring one or more of our students, please contact our co-op office at 810-762-9846.
