Educational Scholar Award
The Educational Scholar Award recognizes the accomplishments of a single faculty member or of a group of cooperating and coordinating faculty who have demonstrated excellence in educational or pedagogical research or scholarship. Those interested in the award should apply directly, rather than being nominated by others. All tenure track and tenured faculty who have not received the award in the last three years are eligible.
Individuals or groups of faculty who have worked together on a common project or series of projects may apply.
Submit your application before June 1, 2015.
The subject line should be: Educational Scholar Application.
Applicants should submit the following:
- The name of the nominee.
- A statement approx (100 to 1,000 words) about the applicant(s) and why he or she (or the group) deserves the award; this should include a list of recent pedagogical and educational scholarship.
- A sample of ONE recent example (published or presented within 5 years of the nomination) of the applicant's scholarship; this may be a book chapter, an article, a conference paper, etc.
The main criterion for the award is evidence of excellence in pedagogical or educational scholarship (theoretical, speculative, qualitative, quantitative, etc.); evidence of the influence of this scholarship on various academic, professional, or other communities may be considered.
