There are a number of excellent laboratory facilities available to Kettering University students pursuing courses in applied physics. Each of the four fundamental introductory physics lecture courses has an accompnaying laboratory course, and each of these is housed in its own laboratory space. Recent funding provided by the GMI/Kettering Capital Campaign have allowed us to upgrade much of the equipment in these introductory labs, as well as to link them with computer workstations at each student station. Following the General Physics link below will take you to a description of each introductory physics laboratory, with a picture of the lab and lists of experiments students perform. |
| In addition to the introductory laboratory facilities, there are several advanced labs. Used by faculty as well as by advanced applied physics major students, these labs are state-of-the-art facilities, with equipment used in many fields of industry. In fact, donations from industrial sponsors have helped to ensure that our advanced laboratories are current with equipment and research which is at the forefront of technology today. The areas of research performed in the advanced labs fall into three main groups: Industrial Optics, Acoustics, and Materials Research. By following the links below you can find pictures, descriptions, recent student/faculty projects, and other information about each of our advanced laboratory facilities. |
