Closure of the Visioning Process

March 2012

Following the content of the president’s email of February 16, 2012, the PAC-SC met with the Strategic Visioning Working Group Co-Chairs on March 1, 2012, to debrief the visioning process.  This event celebrated the work of these dedicated volunteers and their assessment provided the strengths and areas of improvement for future campus- wide processes.

On March 5, 2012, the PAC-SC hosted a Town Hall with President McMahan to provide a forum for dialogue about the Strategic Visioning Project Final Report. As can be seen from the photos, the event was well attended! Jim Huggins, the Faculty Senate Moderator, acted as facilitator to solicit feedback and two-way communication. The comments were documented and the feedback forms were collected at the close of the meeting, then all responses were shared with the president and PAC-SC.

The e-survey that was posted on the website was sent to faculty, staff, and students as well alumni and active community members. This provided another means for feedback on the Strategic Visioning Final Report. The responses were downloaded into a report and provided to the president and PAC-SC.

The PAC-SC then met in an extended meeting and synthesized the final Town Hall feedback into revised visioning statements. On March 8, 2012, this was sent to the president via the attached email and in hard copy

In response, the president thanked everyone who participated in the Town Hall as well as those that participated in all other steps in the visioning process. Dr. McMahan provided closure to the strong visioning work through the words, “..with the revisions reflecting the Town Hall feedback- I think we are there!”
