The Kettering University Archives is always interested in expanding the collections that deal with industrial history as well as the history of GMI and Kettering University. Its Industrial History Collection deals mainly with the Automotive Industry and its suppliers. The Archives is interested in expanding the archives to include material from some of the University’s major sponsors in the industrial world.
The Archives is mainly a two dimensional collection but also seeks out three dimensional artifacts that will enhance the collection for display purposes. The acceptance of these artifacts depends on space availability and the importance to the collection. All donations to the archives are tax deductible.
Materials of interest include:
- Personal manuscripts
- Business records
- Sales literature
- Engineering records
- Films and video
- Audio tapes
- School memorabilia
- Automobile memorabilia

Historical Collection Endowment Fund
The Kettering University Archives is supported by the Historical Collection Endowment that was established by the GMI Alumni Foundation. This endowment fund helps pay for the majority of the operation of the Archives. It helps us provide proper archival storage for the collection and assists us in the digitization of the collection and computerization of the collection database. If you would like to help the archives grow and meet the challenges of the future, please contact Jack Stock in University Advancement or David White in the Kettering University Archives.
